How fresh is the shrimp?  We have a family boat come to the docks every couple of days.  We take what shrimp we can sell in 2 to 3 days off the boats and sell the rest to nationwide brokers.  What this means is the average storage for our shrimp shipped to you is 3 days.  The shrimp is frozen on board the boat and then packed on shore, making it the freshest tasting shrimp you can possibly buy.

Why do we have a minimum order on our shrimp?  We have a minimum order on our shrimp, because the more shrimp you buy the longer the shrimp will stay frozen during shipping.  Six pounds on the two pounders and 15 pounds on the five pounder, allows us to ship the shrimp three day ground instead of overnight.  With the minimum order you get the most shrimp with the least amount of shipping cost.

How do we compare to other websites that sell shrimp?  In my research of other websites, our shrimp is an average of $2 to $3 less per pound.  Our shipping is the least expensive that I have found.

Where does our shrimp come from?  Our shrimp is harvested from the Gulf of Mexico with our own family shrimp boats.

Is the shrimp guaranteed on delivery?  Yes, the shrimp is guaranteed to be frozen on delivery.  If you are not happy with your shrimp we will refund your money or reship your order, whatever makes you happy.

What is the difference between Gulf shrimp and farm raised shrimp in taste comparison?  There is no comparison. Gulf Shrimp get their flavor from all of the different things they feed on in the Gulf of Mexico.  Many people believe that they have the best flavor of all shrimp.  Farm raised shrimp are fed only one type of feed and therefore do not have nearly the flavor of Gulf shrimp.  Also, Gulf shrimp are not treated with chemicals like many of the farm raised shrimp are.

Can I get a discount for a larger order?  Yes you can.  We give discounts on large orders.  Depending on the size of the order, wholesale prices start at 50 lbs or more.  The more you order, the more your discount. 

What if I can not use a whole five pound box at once?   Use the amount of shrimp you would like for your meal.  With the left over shrimp, you can separate it is the amount you think you will use per meal and put it in a freezer bag covered in water.  Refreeze it, as long as it is covered in water it will not hurt the taste at all.  You do not want to thaw shrimp more than 3 times. That is why you should separate it in meal size packages and recover it in water before refreezing.

What if I can not use 6 or 15 lbs at  this time? Can I order a smaller amount?  We do not ship less than six lbs because it will not stay frozen for shipping.  We suggest that you split the order and the shipping with a friend.  This is also a good way to get a discount.  You can get a bunch of friends together to place a order and if it is over 50 lbs you qualifiy for wholesale prices.

How do I thaw the shrimp out?  Take the shrimp out of the box and place it in you sink under running cold water for a few minutes.  Make sure that you do not run hot water over the shrimp it will begin to cook it and ruin it.

How can I save money on shipping?  There is a UPS zone map on our site.  If the UPS zone map shows that your area will take 3 day or less for ground delivery, you may choose ground for shipping.  As long as the shrimp is delivered in 3 days it will remain frozen.

Do the shrimp have the head on or off? The shrimp do not have a head on but they do have the shell-on.  The reason we do not sell shrimp without the shell is that the shrimp does not hold its flavor as well as when the shell is left on.  If you are grilling or boiling shrimp it is best to leave the shell on.  The shrimp will stay much more tender and tasty than if you take the shell off.  We send a shrimp deveiner with all orders and instructions on how to use it.  You will master cleaning shrimp in no time, and the taste of the shrimp will be worth it.
